Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the #1 Resort on Florida’s Emerald Coast, will host the 2nd Annual Habitrot for Humanity, a half marathon and 5k race October 6, 2012, to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
Sandestin invites running and walking enthusiasts to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenic trails throughout the beautiful 2,400-acre resort. Participants will be able to soak in views including the Gulf of Mexico, Choctawhatchee Bay, beautifully manicured golf courses, ponds, nature and so much more.
Sandestin is a proven and popular destination for several fitness events, with 26 years of success of the Sandestin Triathlon in August and the tradition of the Sandestin Beach Bicycle Tour.
According to Shawna Harris, events director for Sandestin, this destination is the perfect place for athletes to compete and train to reach their fitness goals.
“People of all skill levels enjoy training and competing at Sandestin because it’s appealing, safe and festive,” said Mrs. Harris. “This October we are thrilled to partner with Habitat for Humanity to provide support to families in need in our local community.”

Saturday, Oct. 6

7:00 a.m. Half Marathon Starts
7:30 a.m. 5k Run Starts
8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Post Race Party
In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, proceeds from the event will ultimately help build stronger lives for mothers, fathers and children in Walton County.
