Escape to Create is a non-profit organization that brings world-class artists and scholars to our South Walton community. Since 1993, Escape to Create’s residency program has offered artists of all varieties the gift of time and space to further explore their craft.
During the four-week residencies, artists live and work in the creative and colorful community of Seaside, in private cottages that are generously donated by their owners. Artists receive bicycles for local transportation, a $100/week stipend and a weekly group dinner in a home environment. In exchange, the attendees are asked to contribute community services such as public readings, lectures, live performances, workshops, exhibits and/or local school visitations.
Participating talents have come here from all around the world, spanning the fields of literature, music, theatre, visual arts, architecture, and interdisciplinary arts.
