After 26 years of continuous ownership and operation, Ellis Woods has announced the sale of Elmo’s Grill to Brad and Amanda Josten.
Over the years, Elmo’s has developed a great reputation as a family-friendly option in South Walton, with their “not fancy, just famous” menu, fresh-from-the-Gulf seafood offerings and live music.
Established in 1990, Elmo’s Grill was the third restaurant to open on Scenic Highway 30A.
Elmo’s Grill is located between Tanglewood Drive and Sunset Avenue and is the only restaurant on 30A serving gator ribs.
When Woods decided to retire, he selected Josten because of his extensive restaurant management experience and his plans to keep up Elmo’s reputation.
Under new ownership, the restaurant will now be open year-round. It will also now accept credit cards, offer free wireless internet, feature additional high-definition television sets with expanded sport channels and offer an expanded beer selection with local beers on tap.
“I’m very impressed with Brad’s vision,” Woods said. “I look forward to watching the legacy of Elmo’s Grill live on and grow,.
