World-renowned artist Andy McKeown is reaching out to the public to submit their images to be featured in his 2012 submission, “Kaleidoscopia” for the Fifth Annual Digital Graffiti Festival to be held in Alys Beach on June 8th and 9th, 2012.
Using a program designed by McKeown called “KaleidoscopiaLIVE,” anyone can submit their images and become part of the show. The free toolkit can be downloaded by visiting his website, www.kaleidoscopialive.com.
Once uploaded, McKeown will incorporate user-submitted photos into his kaleidoscopic exhibit. The work will be projected onto one of the iconic white walls within the coastal community of Alys Beach. Repeat festival patrons may recall that McKeown was featured with his kaleidoscope-inspired piece at the 2011 Digital Graffiti Festival.
McKeown intentionally made the process as user-friendly and accessible as possible.
I originally designed the toolkit to simplify and speed up Kaleidoscopia’s collection process and the toolkit makes this almost instant and frees up the user to experiment with just making fabulous kaleidoscopes.”
The process gets even easier with his webcam-version of the software.
“There is no loading of files so it’s ideal for small children and big people who don’t really like computers,” said McKeown.
Digital Graffiti tickets are now available and will sell out in advance, so pre-purchasing tickets is strongly recommended. Visit www.digitalgraffiti.com to purchase tickets online or visit Fonville Press in Alys Beach. Adult tickets are $30 for Friday night and $50 for Saturday night. Children’s tickets (12 and under) may be purchased for $10 for each night.
