CVHN Receives Grant From St. JoeLewis Howell with the St. Joe Community Foundation visited the Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) Mobile Dental Clinic this week and presented the non-profit organization with a $45,226 grant. The funds will help support CVHN’s Health Care Referral and Mobile Dental Clinic Programs.

The St. Joe Community Foundation is pleased to provide this grant that provides a benefit to the children in Walton and Okaloosa Counties,” said Howell.

More than 60 percent of Walton County families have no dental insurance and there are only 15 dentists in the county, serving a population CVHN Receives Grant From St. Joeof over 50,000 people. CVHN operates a Mobile Dental Clinic, named Just for Grins. It’s a 34-foot RV that’s been converted into a 2-chair dental clinic. The mobile clinic travels to elementary schools throughout the county to provide free dental treatment for children 1st-3rd grade on the free or reduced lunch program. CVHN also facilitates free access to medical, vision, dental and mental health care for children in Okaloosa and Walton Counties through a volunteer provider network.

“CVHN operates efficiently because of our dedicated volunteers,” said Zach Billingsley, CVHN’s Executive Director. “However, it takes funding to reach the large number of children who need our help each year. We are very grateful that the St. Joe Community Foundation is giving back to our community and believes in our mission. This funding will help CVHN change lives.”
