When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return. – Leonardo Da Vinci
Mike Coe graduated from Auburn University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Aviation Management and from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1984 with a Master of Aeronautical Science.
Afterwards his studies, Coe served six years as an Air Force pilot, five years as a corporate pilot, and twenty-one years as a commercial airline pilot for American Airlines based in Washington D.C.. Nashville, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles.
His flight experience equates to having spent over two years in the air in everything from Piper Cubs to jumbo jets, seaplanes to helicopters.
The fictional stories Coe writes are derived from the real world—where we all live—stories about the world as it is, strange and real, yet full of grace. As individuals, we are unique works of art, but within our human experiences (success, failures, and heartaches) we are connected by a common thread. It is Coe’s goal that each story he writes entertain, evoke emotion, and leave his readers with a message of hope for a better tomorrow.
